Bonus Activity: Women at Work

Both men and women served in World War II. Many women choose to enlist
as nurses and be stationed overseas caring for wounded soldiers. My nana
was one of those nurses. She (Dorothy) spent much of World War II working
on a large Red Cross ship that was
stationed off the coast of Cairo, Egypt.   

For this activity, you are going to imagine that you are just like Dorothy and
that you are working as a nurse on a large medical ship.

One day you are walking along the deck of the ship when you hear a loud bang.

You start to run as you see smoke coming from the far end of the ship. You run

towards the room where your patients are waiting to receive treatment from the

doctor. Just as you arrive at the door to their room you hear another loud bang

One day i was on a ship and suddenly i heard a loud bang i ran as fast as i can

to the captain of the ship and told him were under attack so everyone on the

ship gathered together and thought of a plan.So we got to our places and

started our plan and we tried every plan but they outsmarted us on .So i

did my own plan so i got into the emergence boat and hid there and suddenly

i saw one of there crewmembers i grabbed him and dragged him into the

emergence boat and i tied a rope around his hands and put tape on his mouth.

So after that i moved to the next place of the boat and it was downstairs i saw

2 people there including there captain so i hid i the perfect spot because every

time there captain took his eyes off his crew members i could take one of there

crew members out and make the silence so after i did that everyone on my boat

took care of their captain and we were safe and we lived happly ever after.
