SLJ - Week 4 day 5 Activty (1,2 and bonus activity)

Activity 1: Your Future Self
It may be hard to imagine, but one day you will graduate from
high school and it will be time to decide what to do next. You
may want to study at university, become an apprentice, go to
training college, travel, or start working. There are so many
options!

Take a minute to think about your future. What would you like
to do when you finish school? Would you like to work in a
specific job? Would you like to study at university? What would
you study? Maybe you’d even like to move overseas. Share your
thoughts and ideas on your blog site. There are no wrong answers!

  • I will work in the police station
  • I will study math and science
  • When i finish school i will go to Tonga.

Activity 2: Flying Cars
Let’s imagine that you’ve just learned to drive, and
your family has decided to buy you a brand new car.
You are allowed to choose from any of the following
designs:

On your blog please tell us
which of the three cars
you would choose and why.

I will choose the flying car
because i like to fly and it
looks cool.

Bonus Activity: Blade Runner 2049

There is a new movie out in
cinemas at the moment calledBlade Runner 2049.

It is a movie about what the world will be like in the future.
Imagine that you able to travel through time and that you
can see what the world will look like in 2099.

On your blog write a description of what New Zealand will
be like at that time (80 – 90 years from now). What kind of
houses will people live in? What will they eat? Where will
they work?

In 2099 you would be carrying a little square piece of paper
which is your home. You just place it down on the ground,
say the password and the magic will happen. The piece of
paper will all of a sudden grow into a luxury, smelling nice,

edible, big house

  1. Kia Ora Mason,

Cadence here from the Summer Learning Journey team!

Activity 1: Very cool dreams when you leave school Mason. I’m curious, what made you want to go to Tonga, become a policeman and study maths and science? We would love to know what’s inspired you to follow these paths.

Activity 2: Flying cars sound good to me. You wouldn’t have to wait in traffic or what at traffic lights ever again… unless they made floating traffic lights!

Activity 3: Wow, so does this paper grow a house or an edible house? Very clever thinking Mason!

Keep up the great work, very creative!

    Cadence 😊

  4. Hi Mason,

Well done on completing the SLJ. I think you have done an amazing job!

I love your idea on how houses will be like in 2099. It is easier and No one can get into it unless you give it to them. That is very very creative.

I hope you have an amazing rest of your holiday! Once again well done!
