SLJ-Week 1 day 2 activity 2

Activity 2: Fabulous Ferns [4 points]

One of the most common plants found in New Zealand forests is the fern. It is a special, iconic symbol of New Zealand. You will find pictures of ferns on the jerseys of many famous sporting teams in New Zealand, including the New Zealand All Blacks.
Did you know that many of these teams also have the word ‘fern’ in their name? Use your best researching skills to find three New Zealand sporting teams who use the word ‘fern’ in their title.
On your blog list three sports teams that have the word ‘fern’ in their title. Beside each team’s name, post a picture of their uniform. Then, at the bottom of your blog post tell us which of the three uniforms you like best and why.

2.New Zealand national rugby team: Black FernsRelated image
3.New Zealand national cricket team: White Ferns Image result for white ferns uniform

I think the best uniform is the Black Fearns uniform because there not focusing on the detail and its something basic also because I love rugby and rugby is my hobby thats why I chose Black Fearns as the best uniform out of these three uniforms.

  1. Hi there Mason,

My name is Susie and I am a member of the Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) team. It is great to see how you've been keeping yourself busy with blogging over summer. I hope you continue to ride along this journey with us until the end of next week.

Well done on researching three NZ Sports teams with the word 'fern' in their title. Was it quite easy to find these online? I like how you have explained which sport each of the teams play.

I would have to agree with you that the Black Ferns' uniform is the simplest one out of the three. I think comfort & flexibility should be the no.1 priority when it comes to designing sports uniforms.

How long have you been playing rugby for? Do you have a rugby team at school? If not, you should definitely consider joining a rugby team once you move on to high school!

Keep up the good work and I am excited to read more of your blog posts Mason :)

    Take care,
    Susie
