It’s All in a Day’s Work SLJ - Week 1 day 2 Activity 1

In the 1800s, most Māori lived in villages called pa. Each village had
many buildings – kauta where people cooked, pataka where they stored
goods and wharepuni where the Māori slept. A traditional wharepuni
had a thatched roof and walls made of timber, fern, rushes and bark. Look at the
picture below of a traditional wharepuni. Does it look like your house?
Answer: A Tiny Bit

On your blog, compare the wharepuni to your own home. What are two
similarities and two differences between a wharepuni and your house?

  1. Kia ora Mason,

First off, good job for including the activity description before your work. To the actual work, I like how you've made clear the differences between your house and the wharepuni with the table.

Just a question - when compared to the wharepuni, how many people do you think could fit in your house?

I'm a bit interested in how a building structure like a wharepuni can compare to a modern house in terms of person capacity (if that's a proper term). Because, I mean, 20-30 people? Astounding!
