Technology With Mrs Sharma

Today for technology we studied about vertebrates and invertebrates with Mrs Sharma . Vertebrates are animals that have backbones such as humans, horses and other animals. While invertebrates have no backbone this group of animals consists of insects, spiders, snails and more. After that we had a Kahoot game about invertebrates and vertebrates and Gideon and I Won. We had fun learning with Mrs Sharma and we hope to learn some more with her.

Snow planet - Recount

Excitement filled the air as we entered the Snow Planet building. Walking to the counter to receive our boots was exhilarating, as we put away our bags and was about to put on my boots I realised it was really hard to slide my foot in. Then I got a size bigger and it was just right, My boots fitted like a glove.

After we put on our boots we had to got helmets and then we all headed inside the snow area. It was really fun when we got our tubes and slid down the slide, bumping into the ice and spinning around in circles.

The other activity that was there was toboggans, we would jump in the toboggan and slide down another slide.
It was really fun at Snow Planet and I hope that we will go there again soon.

Mud Run- Recount

Getting off of the Tamaki collage van, excitement was in the air as we changed into our mud run clothes. We were all exited and curious about this mud run, we were all excited to run the course but we were curious on what lies ahead.

Running the coarse was kind of hard running the full course and to make it even worse there was mud slowing us down. I slipped everywhere, in the mud puddles and getting pushed around by the other kids and falling into the mud.

Ali-Jon Key and myself were all together having fun pushing each other in and having a really fun time. After we finished the run we cleaned our self and changed into our other clothes.

Then we had something to eat while the man hosting was calling out names to come and pick a prize, unlucky me I wasn't chosen but at least 2 students from our school were picked. Then we got in the van and drove back to school, it was an amazing experience and I hope that one day we will do a mud run again.

Kiwi Can

Today was our first Kiwi Can lesson of the term and it was awesome. First they greeted us in Hawaiian, after that we talked about what we did last term and about our new topics and theme for this term. Then we had our energiser, for our energiser we played emotional statues. To play this you have to buddy up with someone and once given an emotion one person has to tell the other person what to look like. After the energiser we talked about feeling and emotions and what they are and what emotions we felt during the holiday. Then it was time for our activity, for our activity we played don't play with my emotions. To play this we had to pair up into groups of five and then the instructor will give each group a different emotion to act out, The emotions where surprised, angry, disappointing and lonely. My group got surprised but it wasn't easy to figure out what to do and what to say for our act, but once we got it we were ready. After doing our skits we came back to the floor and then the lesson was over.

Statistics

Today we learnt about statistics using mean median and mode. Mean stands for average, to find the mean you have to add all your numbers and divide the answer you got with how much numbers are there. Median is just like the middle and mode the most occurring number so like the number that appeasers the most.

This is the data room 7 and I worked on.

Coding with Python

Today for tech we were coding Micro bits with Python. Python is a coding language website. Also if we did something wrong the word problems will come up on the bottom of the screen, but to get rid of that you might have to add a space bar or backspace at the front of the code then it will disappear.

Here is my code for a beating heart.

And this is a code for a number dice.

Architecture

WALT: We are learning to create accurate floor plans for building a house.                                                 We used floorplancreator.net to do this.                                                                        Here are my plans.

What I learnt from doing this activity is before building a house you need a

  • Floor plan.
  • Where the rooms are going to be.
  • The measurement of the house .
  • And if the door goes in or out.
If I joined the building industry I would like to be a engineer.

Multicultural NZ

Multicultural NZ

NZ is a multicultural country

With Tongan, Samoan and even Chinese

Also what they bring that makes me pleased

With different food and even different cheese

Drinks that make you hit the floor with a crash

With people doing manus and making a big splash

We embrace all cultures and colours

We even treat each other like brothers

New Zealand is the place to be

With amazing views and dancing trees

Some cultures produce masterpieces

Each culture in NZ separate puzzle pieces

We love all cultures and you should too

So what are you doing?

You have nothing to lose

New Zealand is the place I love

Even with many cultures we still fit like a glove

The colours for NZ

Red, white and yellow are cool

but the best place to be is school
