How the digestive system works

When you eat something and your so distracted that you forgot what you ate but that food is still in your body. Let me show you how food travels through your body.

First the food is chewed, the saliva helps break the food down. Then the food goes into the esophagus or the food pipe .when the food reaches the end of the esophagus/food pipe the food is at the stomach.

The stomach mixes the food and breaks down the food even more and then it pasess it down to the small intestines which is a tube about 1½ inches to two inches the small intestines break the food even more so it can absorb all the vitamins, minerals, nutrients and carbohydrates.

The nutrient rich blood comes to the liver for its process the liver filters out the harmful waste turning the waste into a more bile substance . Even the liver helps figure out how much nutrients goes to the body and how much nutrients to store.

Then it goes to the large intestines the nutrient are removed from the food mixture there are leftover waste in the intestines . Before it goes it passes through a part of the large intestines called the colon where it gets its last chance to absorb some water and some minerals into the blood.

When the water leaves the waste, it gets harder and harder as it keeps moving through the large intestines until it becomes solid poop. Then the large intestines pushes the poop into the rectum the last stop of the digestive tract and the poop goes down the anus and into the toilet.
